Project: Money Point Generation Station

With this project, we managed to deliver quality results on time and within schedule. We worked closely with this client to understand their needs and preferences, and the success of the outcome speaks for itself.

The project consists of the installation of two  220 kV cable circuits between Kilpaddoge 220 kV Station west of Tarbert in north Co. Kerry and Moneypoint 220 kV GIS Station across the Shannon Estuary in Co. Clare. Each circuit consists of a land-based section on either side of the estuary connected by a submarine section. The Contract involves the land-based installation in Moneypoint only. The Works include approximately 2.5 km (2 x 1.25 km) of trenching and ducting in roads and in open ground, connection to existing ducts and the construction of  joint bays, communication chambers,  link box chambers and ancillary works. Each of the  220kV circuits consists of 3- way 200 mm and 2-way 125 mm  HDPE ducts. The Works also included the trenching and ducting of approximately 1.1Km of a 20kV MV cable circuit and construction of a joint bay between the proposed location of a wind turbine and the 220 kV GIS Station.
